Behind The Door

“The doors of wisdom are never shut.”

Benjamin Franklin

If George Washington’s tomb really does conceal a hidden treasure vault, what might we expect to find when the door is finally opened? The locking mechanism on the door contained five sets of eight crosses. Only one cross was used on each set of holes to find the Key. There were seven crosses that were not used in each group, and the letter ‘G’, which is often found at the center of the Masonic Square and Compass, also has a value of seven. They are telling us to look for the number 7. The tomb of George Washington was located exactly 13 miles from the Washington Monument. Oddly enough, the George Washington Masonic Memorial in Alexandria, Virginia is located precisely seven miles from George Washington’s tomb at Mount Vernon.

The Masonic Memorial was erected in the 1920’s to honor George Washington, the Mason. The construction and operation was and is currently funded entirely by private donations and is open to the public free of charge. It is located on an irregularly shaped plot of land, that is part of a mountain summit in Alexandria, Virginia, known as Shooters Hill. Figure 1 shows an aerial view of the Masonic Memorial.

The cornerstone for The George Washington Masonic National Memorial was laid on November 1, 1923 during the 13th annual meeting of the governing Memorial Association. The laying of the cornerstone on the 13th annual meeting appears to be a confirmation of the relationship of this building to the 13 degree line between the Washington Monument and Mount Vernon.

It is 7 miles from George Washington’s Tomb at Mount Vernon to the center of the dome over George Washington’s statue inside the Masonic Memorial, shown in Figure 2. A perpendicular line can then be drawn passing directly through the center of the Square and Compass in front of the Monument and intersecting the 13 mile line that runs between The Washington Monument and the Tomb at Mount Vernon.

The Washington Masonic Memorial is seven miles from the tomb, and the Washington Monument is 13 miles from the tomb. Combined 7 and 13 can be interpreted as the number 713, which has a hidden message.

713 = 666 + 47

47 = GRAIL

The number 713 appears to suggest that the GRAIL is located in George Washington’s tomb.

Some interesting numbers can be found along the line from the center of the Memorial, passing through the Square and Compass on the front lawn, to the intersection of the 13 degree line. The steps at the front of the building are approximately 1611 feet from the 13 degree line and the center of the building is approximately 1888 feet from the line. 1611 could imply the King James version of the Bible, and 1888 is the year that the Washington Monument was opened to the public. The number 1776 would fall very close to the front door of the Memorial, see Figure 3

The Memorial is modeled after the ancient lighthouse of Alexandria, Egypt. It is interesting to note that the cities in Virginia and Egypt share the same name, Alexandria. Aside from the lighthouse being one of the seven wonders of the ancient world, Alexandria, Egypt also possessed the largest library in the ancient world. By some estimates it contained hundreds of thousands of scrolls and an untold knowledge of human history. Most of the texts are believed to have been destroyed in an “accidental” fire around 48 BC. What if the scrolls were not lost? What if they were saved and ultimately protected by the Templars, the Freemasons, and now rest in George Washington’s tomb?

Other clues as to what might be hidden inside the treasure vault can be found inside the Masonic Memorial. The fifth, seventh and eighth floors of the tower are dedicated to the York Rite of Freemasonry. The sixth floor contains a vast Masonic library and is not open to the public, except by appointment. The three main organizations of the York Rite are The Royal Arch, Royal and Select Masters, and the Knights Templar and are represented on floors five, seven, and eight, respectively.

In the Royal Arch Exhibit, a very impressive replica of the Ark of the Covenant can be found, see Figure 4.

On the wall opposite the Ark of The Covenant, is a painting of the ruins of Solomon’s Temple. On the other walls of the room that contains the Ark, murals depict the transportation of the Ark through the deserts of the Middle East. It is said that the Templar Knights protected the Ark of the Covenant. It is said that they found it beneath the ruins of the Temple. What if the legend is true and the Ark is waiting just inside the secret door of Washington’s tomb?

The seventh floor is called the Cryptic Room and is dedicated to the building of the second Temple in Jerusalem, following the Babylonian captivity and return of the Jews. The second Temple did not contain the Ark. It was lost following the destruction of the first Temple. The eighth floor houses the Knights Templar Chapel and is adorned with stained glass windows depicting the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

The George Washington Masonic Memorial is connected to the tomb because it is exactly seven miles away. The Memorial appears to offer clues about what could be hidden in the tomb, which might include the legendary scrolls from the Alexandria Library, the Ark of the Covenant, the actual cross used to crucify Jesus, and many other lost relics and secrets of the Christian faith.

Why are there so many monuments, memorials, and paintings honoring George Washington throughout the capitol city? He was not so highly venerated merely because he was America’s first President. George Washington was completely and totally dedicated to the task at hand. He was so dedicated, in fact, that his own life meant less to him than protecting the sacred Truth of God. Few people could imagine what this man really did to earn the status he has attained in death.
