The Missing Link

“The Holy Grail ‘neath ancient Rosslyn waits.
The blade and chalice watch o’er her gates.
Adorned by masters loving art she lies.
As she rests beneath the starry skies.”

Robert Langdon

In the preceding pages, I have suggested that George Washington was heavily involved in the protection of the Ark of The Covenant. I have even suggested that he drew an encrypted map showing the precise location of the Ark. If any of this is true, then how did George Washington become involved in this monumental undertaking? Is there anything that connects George Washington to the Templar Knights and their infamous treasure? Clearly, we are not going to find a smoking gun or document that specifically says he was on a mission to protect the secrets of God. We will have to rely on circumstantial evidence. To find the missing link, let’s start with the legends and ask an important question…

“What if the legends are true?”

That is the question that Duncan Burden of the Maranatha project said he and his team first posed when they began the search for the Holy Grail. He continued, saying “If we assume that the legends are true, then where does it lead?”

Either the Templars found something at Solomon’s Temple as legend tells they did, or they simply did not. If they did not find anything and if they had no treasure to protect, then why do the legends persist? Why were they arrested and tortured by the Vatican on false charges? What was the Vatican looking for that required imprisoning and torturing the Templars? Legends that get passed down from generation to generation are not usually born out of nothing. Like rumors, and gossip, there is almost always some element of truth behind the stories. If we assume the Templars had something, maybe even the Ark of the Covenant, then where does the trail lead?

When the Templar Knights fell, one of the more common legends tells that they took their treasure to Scotland, ultimately finding its way to Rosslyn Chapel. Originally called the Collegiate Chapel of St. Matthew, the Chapel was built in Roslin, Midlothian, Scotland by Sir William Sinclair, the first Earl of Caithness. Construction on the Chapel began on 20 September 1456. The Chapel contains what many believe are Templar and Freemason symbolism. Rather than rehash a description of the Chapel here, the reader is encouraged to visit the official website of Rosslyn Chapel.

A very good documentary series on Rosslyn Chapel has been produced by Lady Helen St. Clair-Erskine, Countess of Rosslyn, the current owner, and can be watched below.

Sir William Sinclair’s grandfather was Henry I Sinclair, the Earl of Orkney and the Baron of Roslin. Although highly disputed by some historians, Henry Sinclair is said to have made a voyage to America more than 100 years before Columbus. To support this theory, many point to carvings of plants in Rosslyn Chapel that are only found in North America. The objective here is not to confirm the legends, but to simply assume they are true and then look at where they may lead. In addition to the mysterious voyage, legends also suggest that Henry Sinclair was a Templar Knight and that he undertook the voyage on behalf of the Templars. Assuming that the voyage took place and that he was in some way associated with the Templars, then what might have been the purpose for the voyage?

Some legends suggest that Henry Sinclair may have visited Oak Island, Nova Scotia. Was he on a mission to hide the Ark of the Covenant, following the orders of the Templar Knights? There is an elaborate series of booby trapped shafts and tunnels on Oak Island that were built by someone to protect something of incredible value. The highly complex nature and apparent age of the project on Oak Island means that it was designed to protect something much more valuable than just gold or jewels.

Some researchers believe that Rosslyn is also connected to the Freemasons.

For the sake of argument, let us assume that the legend surrounding Rosslyn Chapel is true. The legends also tell that the St. Clair (Sinclair) clan had direct ties to the Templars. Let us also assume that the Templar Knights somehow managed to get their treasure safely to Rosslyn and then on to the New World in the years that followed their demise.

If a link could be found between George Washington and Rosslyn Chapel, or even the St. Clair clan, it would offer some explanation as to how Washington might have become involved.

Arthur St. Clair was an aide-de-camp to George Washington during the Revolutionary War and was held in high regard by the General. He was with Washington during the infamous Crossing of the Delaware River on December 25-26, 1776. St. Clair was also a President of the Continental Congress. His remains can be found in St. Clair park in Greensburg, Pennsylvania beneath a monument erected by the Freemasons.

According to WikiTree, Arthur St.Clair was a direct descendant of William Sinclair, the 1st Earl of Caithness and the builder of Rosslyn Chapel. The coincidence is too significant to ignore.

General Arthur St. Clair was the son of William (Sinclair) St. Clair, the son of James (Sinclair) St. CLair, the son of James Sinkler-Sinclair-St. Clair, son of John Sinclair, son of Sir James Sinclair of Murkle 2nd Bt., son of John Garrow Sinclair, son of George (Sinclair) Fourth Earl of Caithness, son of John (Sinclair) third Earl of Caithness, son of William Sinclair, “2nd Earl of Caithness”, son of William Sinclair “1st Earl of Caithness, 3rd Earl of Orkney”.

A direct link between George Washington and the builder of Rosslyn Chapel is found through a very close associate, Arthur St. Clair. If the Templars had the Ark of the Covenant and the it was protected by the St. Clair clan following the demise of the Templars, then what better way to ensure its survival than through a close knit family. George Washington has a verifiable link to the Templar knights and their descendants. He drew a map that contains an encrypted map that hides a symbol of the Ark of God.

Did George Washington work with Arthur St. Clair to hide and protect the Ark of God?
